Blue Room Curacao

During a holiday to the beautiful island of Curacao, you should really visit the Blue Room on Curacao. You simply cannot miss this attraction on Curacao. The Blue Room, or Blue Room, is a beautiful cave in Curacao. The cave is also known as Mushroom Forest Cave. The special thing about this cave is that the sun is reflected into the cave through the water, since it cannot shine directly into the cave, giving the cave a beautiful glow with the color blue.

When you are in the cave itself, there are still plenty of things you can do. For example, you can enjoy a swim in the Blue Room with the beautiful blue glow around you. If you prefer to do something that feels a little more special, you can also look for fish in this cave. The Blue Room on Curacao also looks beautiful underwater and of course fish also swim here. However, the fish usually look for a place that is a bit sheltered, so to be able to see fish, it is best to look for these places. Often you can even see large groups of fish swimming in this cave! Watching underwater and looking for fish is therefore highly recommended when you are in the Blue Room! Of course, you don’t just have to swim or look for fish in the Blue Room. You can also jump into the water from the top of the Blue Room! Children often like this too, but it is important to take into account the sharp rocks that you have to pass if you want to jump into the water from above. Water shoes are recommended in any case for safety.

The sea route to the Blue Room

There are two different ways for people to get to the Blue Room in Curacao. The first is through the sea. First of all, this can be done in an easy way by renting a water taxi. This boat is known as Captain Goodlife, for which you can already board at Santa Cruz. During the trip to the Blue Room you can admire the coast of Curacao from the water taxi. When you and the other passengers arrive at the Blue Room, you will first receive an instruction. This mainly tells you what you have to take into account in terms of safety. You then have 15 minutes to explore the cave at your own leisure and enjoy a swim if you wish. After this everyone gets back on the boat and it sails back to Santa Cruz. However, this is not a boring route either, as on the way back you can still look at the coast of Curacao and the boat makes a stopover at Santa Pretu, also known as the black beach.

The adventurous route to the Blue Room

If the route via the sea is too boring for you, this adventurous route to the Blue Room may be more suitable for you. If you choose to take the adventurous route to the Blue Room, you will walk the entire route. This is of course cheaper in the first place, since you do not have to spend money on a boat trip. You can spend this money, for example, on a nice dinner or on souvenirs from Curacao. The route is also more exciting and you can take it at your own leisure, without having to take other passengers into account. Finally, an advantage of the adventurous route is that you can spend as long as you want at the Blue Room. You don’t have to leave after 15 minutes because the boat then sails back, but you can do everything at your own pace. When following the walking route you will start at Santa Cruz, to the left of the beach. This is just before the boarding point of the water taxi Captain Goodlife.

To arrive at the Blue Room on foot, you must first follow a steep path uphill. After this it is a 10 minute walk to Santa Pretu, the black beach. This is of course another advantage of the adventurous route, as you can also spend time on Santa Pretu while walking. The sand here is black which is of course very special to see! You can also go swimming if you want, but the current is quite strong here so pay attention to that. When you are ready to continue walking to the Blue Room, instead of walking into the sea, take a path on the right on the left. Via this road it is a 15 to 20 minute walk before you arrive at the Blue Room. The road is also easy to recognize because it is indicated with blue dots. When you arrive at the end of the path, which is also wide enough for cars to drive there, you have to turn right. You will immediately notice that you are close to the Blue Room, as you can already hear the sea. After the walking route you arrive at the top of the cave and you can then follow a path down, which brings you to a rock from which you can jump to end up in the water. Although many tourists like to walk in flip-flops, this is not recommended for this walking route, so make sure you wear sturdy shoes so that the trip is as comfortable as possible.
