The lighthouse is 20 meters high and still has an active status. The island of Klein Curacao is flat, which means that ships can easily miss it and that is how the shipwrecks eventually arise. That is why it is important that there is a well-functioning lighthouse on this island. In 2018, an adjustment was made to the lighthouse. The iconic lighthouse now has an LED installation that works on solar energy! The lighthouse lamp flashes 2 times every 15 seconds and its range is 15 nautical miles. This is approximately 27,780 meters!
What’s so special?

The floors are not equally sturdy everywhere and the building is already old. In 2017, however, a complete renovation of the tower was started.
